1. Overview

Quizzinga is an AI-powered quizzing platform built by Sourav Das as a personal project. It is not affiliated with any employer or organisation. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it. If you have questions, contact us at souravreachesout@gmail.com.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: Email address and display name when you sign up via Google OAuth or email.
  • Question banks & content: Questions, answers, and documents you upload. This content is private to your account and never publicly searchable.
  • Session data: Quiz sessions you create, participant display names (no account required to join), and answer responses.
  • AI usage logs: Token counts and estimated cost for each AI generation request, to monitor service costs and enforce fair-use limits.
  • Usage analytics: Anonymised product events (page views, feature usage) via PostHog to help us improve the product.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate your account and deliver the quizzing features you use
  • To generate AI questions using the Anthropic Claude API on your behalf
  • To monitor and control AI API costs (usage caps and admin monitoring)
  • To improve the product based on anonymised usage patterns

We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising or marketing.

4. AI-Generated Content

When you use the AI question generator, your topic text or document content is sent to the Anthropic Claude API to generate questions. Anthropic's privacy policy governs how they handle this data. We do not store the full document content — only the questions generated from it are saved to your question bank.

5. Participant Data

Participants who join a live session do not need to create an account. They provide only a display name. Response data (answers, scores) is stored for session analytics. No personally identifiable information is collected from participants. Session data may be deleted by the Quiz Master at any time.

6. Data Storage & Security

All data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Supabase (AWS infrastructure). Row-level security policies ensure that each user can only access their own data. The application is deployed on Vercel with HTTPS enforced on all connections.

7. Third-Party Services

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and real-time infrastructure
  • Anthropic — Claude AI API for question generation
  • Vercel — application hosting and deployment
  • PostHog — anonymised product analytics
  • Google — OAuth sign-in (optional)

Each provider operates under their own privacy policy.

8. Data Retention

Your account and question bank data is retained until you delete your account. You can delete individual questions, banks, and sessions at any time from within the app. To request full account deletion, email souravreachesout@gmail.com.

9. Your Rights

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Portability — export your question bank as CSV at any time from the app
  • Correction — update your account details in Settings
